I’m running because I believe local government should work for the people who live here, not just the people who have always had a seat at the table. As an 18-year-old from Miami County, I’ve watched young people and everyday residents feel like their voices don’t matter. Over the past year, I’ve attended local meetings, organized around issues affecting our communities, spoken out about transparency and responsible development, and worked to get more young people involved in the decisions that shape their future. What pushed me from advocacy to actually running for office was realizing that showing up and speaking out only goes so far. At some point, we need people inside government who are willing to ask difficult questions, challenge the status quo, and make decisions based on what residents actually want. I’m running for Miami County Council because I want a county government that is transparent, fiscally responsible, open to public involvement, and serious about protecting our communities while preparing them for the future. I also want other young people to see that public service is not something they have to wait decades to participate in. My campaign is about bringing a new voice to Miami County and proving that age, wealth, or political connections should never determine whether someone has the ability to serve their community.
Data centers have proven to be detrimental to local community, it is my main goal within the campaign. We have fought the county for an ordinance, and have pushed out many AI companies from developing on agricultural land.
